Canada’s newly sworn-in Prime Minister Mark Carney is set to hold a press conference at Canada House in London’s Trafalgar Square on Monday.

As part of his first trip abroad as prime minister, Carney paid a visit to French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris, before meeting with King Charles in London.

A destination not on his itinerary is Washington, D.C., though President Donald Trump’s trade war is expected to dominate discussions in Europe. The new Liberal leader will visit Iqaluit, Nunavut before returning to Ottawa.

Without a seat in the House of Commons and as Canada’s first unelected prime minister in four decades, Carney is facing increasing pressure at home to call an election.
